Established in 1996, Millar Maritime is an independent ocean freight consultancy providing practical, hands-on support across the maritime transportation chain.
With experience spanning ship and cargo broking, ship operations and supercargo services, we work with exporters, importers, traders, shipowners and other industry participants to help them navigate the complexities of ocean freight.

Scott Millar

Scott brings over 46 years of experience across the maritime industry, spanning seafaring, ship agency, marine surveying, supercargo operations, ship and cargo broking, chartering, vessel management and claims handling. As a founder and business leader, Scott combines extensive practical and technical knowledge with strong commercial expertise and an established international industry network. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, he provides clients with practical, commercially focused guidance across a wide range of complex shipping and logistics requirements.
Alison Millar
Director | M.Comm (Econ) | Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers
Alison brings over 30 years of extensive commercial, academic and industry experience to Millar Maritime. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Alison has held several senior positions within the shipping industry, including Line Executive in ship agency and Commercial Manager in liner shipping. She has also served as an ICS Branch Chairman and as a member of both the Controlling Council and Executive Councils of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. Her experience is complemented by her background as a Maritime Economics Tutor, giving her a strong understanding of the commercial and economic factors shaping the maritime industry.
Sabelo Manyanga
Operations Manager | National Diploma in Maritime Studies | Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers
Sabelo is an experienced maritime professional with over 15 years of industry experience, specialising in post-fixture operations and shipbroking, supported by a strong background in port agency. He holds a National Diploma in Maritime Studies (Shore-Based) and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. With extensive knowledge of vessel operations and the commercial aspects of shipping, Sabelo brings a practical, detail-focused approach to ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of each voyage.
